What must I do to sponsor a child through COA?
Once you've made up your mind it's time to fill out our Child Sponsorship Informational Form and arrange for your sponsorship payment. Please follow the Sponsor a Child Now link in the left hand column when you're ready..

What does it cost to sponsor a child through COA?
To participate in COA's sponsorship program, the minimum donation amount is $360 yearly. However, the need is great. If you desire to sponsor double or triple that amount, please do. Your help is greatly appreciated.

How often do I send in my sponsorship donation?
When you sign up to sponsor a child you can select monthly, quarterly or annually.

What donation methods are available to me?
Our first preference for donations is to sign up for Automatic Debit of your checking or savings account. Pay-Pal's automatic subscription service is also very convenient. COA is assessed a 3% service fee for all transactions. We are also able to receive your sponsorship through check or money order made payable to Cambodian Orphan Aid and mailed to our U.S. address.

Will you send me a reminder when my sponsorship has expired?
Auto-debit donations and Pay-Pal subscriptions are regular and automatic and no reminder is necessary. However, if you prefer to mail your sponsorship and desire a reminder, one will be made available only upon request.

What will happen if I forget to mail my sponsorship?
Unfortunately, should you forget your sponsorship, the level of assistance COA can provide will be reduced. Please mail your sponsorship as soon as you do remember.

When will I be matched with a child?
Once we have received your copleted sponsorship form and your sponsorship donation we will match you with a child on our next scheduled delivery of supplies. At that time we will send you a written profile and picture of the child.

Will I receive regular updates or pictures of my child?
Yes! As long as you maintain a current email address wth COA, you will receive updates and photos on a quarterly basis. Should email not be possible, you will receive an update and photo on an annual basis.

Can I send a gift or package to my child?
Yes! The children love to receive letters and small packages. However, this is not required.

Can I send letters to my child?
Yes! COA has a wonderful E-Pal program where you can exchange correspondance with your child.

May I visit my child?
This would be a wonderful opportunity for you and your sponsored child. To best facilitate your visit a 30-day advance notice is encouraged. Drop-in visits cannot be accomodated. Check out our Visiting Cambodia page.

What does my child sponsorhsip donation go toward?
Your sponsorship provides for
education fees and supplies, nutritional support, E-Pal correspondence, medical and dental services, Special Events and friendship.

How much of my donation goes directly to support the children?
We are very proud of our ability to keep expenses low. 95% of donations directly benefit the children.

Is my sponsorship donation tax deductible?
Every state/country has different laws regarding charitable donations. Please check with your own state/country. Cambodian Orphan Aid is classified as a 501c3 non-profit charity under the umbrella of our parent organization, Bykota Ministries, in most cases donations to our organization are tax deductible.

Are my donations to COA eligible for employer matching?
Every employers requirments are different therefore we suggest you check with your HR representative.

Is Cambodian Orphan Aid a religious organization?
COA is strictly a humanitarian aid project. Donations to COA are processed through a church but accounted for seperately from our parent organization.
